Welcome to Art in an Hour
Welcome to my first blog on this brand new website for Art in an Hour. Having been a luddite for so long it’s as if I’ve had a transplant of my mind! Imagine that.
Art in an Hour has arrived and it is in good shape after an intense period of research and development and a warm ‘take off’.
One of the best things about teaching Art in an Hour is that everyone in the room is equal. Whether you have had some experience of art, maybe you loved it at school-but then dropped it, or maybe you are jumping in for the first time, my classes are designed so that you are having the best experience for you. No competition, no prizes, other than the ice-cream your pride shouts itself at your achievement.
This juicy morsel of creative mindfulness has many applications and relevance. For instance, to work with corporate organisations and businesses who are so not like me is my delight. It’s a strange thing really, because for most of my working life I’ve sought to be with my ‘tribe’. And here I am completely jumping out of my comfort zone (mostly a right brained world) to be with people who are mostly in a left brained working environment. I figure that if I can be useful to that world, then they will find value in what Art in an Hour has to offer. Essentially some brain or mind balancing, in essence, a mindfulness tune-up, and a creative one too.
Of course I still love working with community initiatives, projects and individuals. That comes as second nature. So too does working in partnership with others, including other art teachers or small businesses and groups who have similar passion to provide life enriching experiences.
Already I have a list of testimonials as long as my breakfast table, and it is my intention to grow that rapidly this year. I invite you to check the blog for progress reports on Art in an Hour. I also invite you to contact us with your bright ideas for events that we might do together.
